ARTIST NOTES: Framed artwork in a black timber frame with chalk white matting, glass and is ready to hang. Bright and bold gold paint radiates from the Hare. The Hare itself is is layered with watered down acrylic paint, overlaid with pen using expressive semi-continuous line format to give a sense of movement and life to my work. 'Hopping Mad" represents the Year of the Rabbit in my Chinese Zodiac Series.

Offically: Narm Land (Melbourne, Australia) based Contemporary Wildlife and Pet Portrait Artist. 

Unofficially: A scribbler.

Self-taught artist, Renee Mitchell's finely-honed line work reference a detailed knowledge of technical drawing combined with a love of expressive line work. 

A passion for pens and love of freedom and movement can be seen in Mitchell's largest body of workds. In her Sratch Series animals and sea creatured alike show find detail and lose line working together in harmony to bring animals to life. A portion of these works combine pen with acrylic paint offering a mixed media contemporary take on the traditional portait.
